TinX/cms was built using "templates" and "objects". Templates are the layout of a page and objects are the actual content that belongs to the page.

But wait... there is more: TinX/cms also uses "Grids" and "Containers" to build pages:
Grids are used to place the content (objects) correct inside a container. The container is the layout of each object.

How it is put together?

To understand how it all works, we will now try to explain the system with an example of how to create a new page for our website:

Mission: You want to create a new page called "Coffee". The page must have a navigation module on the left and an image at the top.

  1. First, you create a new page. Next, you edit the settings for this page and we must deside what "Template" to use for the page. You select a template called "Standard with left navigation" and then you save the page.
  2. Now you have created a page without content but with the layout.
  3. You edit the page using the "Edit" symbol and you can now see the "Grids" for the page, where you can insert the content. The left navigation cannot be changed - the navigation is part of the template.
  4. When you are ready to add content to the page, you must use the "Add Content" icon among the template tools ("close edit mode", "add content", "edit settings"). When you click on the icon, a small layer-window pops up where you must enter some values to add the content. Now select the "Object" you want to add, and choose in what Grid you want to add it, and in what "Container" (layout) you want to display the content  when it is added to the page - You can allmost speak this:
"I want to add some "Text" to the "Content Grid" having a "Standard" layout)
    ... or...
"I want to add a "Contact form" to the "Right Grid" having a "Boxed" layout)
    ... or...
"I want to add a "Sitemap" to the "Content Grid" having a "Normal" layout)
  5. When you press the "Add content" button, an empty object is added and now, you only need to setup/edit the object and save it again - that's really it!
