Installation & setup

TinX/cms 3.5 includes an installer which makes it very easy to install and setup TinX/cms. All you have to do is to download the latest version of TinX/cms from Source Forge, unzip it to your DocumentRoot folder on your webserver and open the URL in a browser. Now you will see the entry screen of the installer.

Before you start you need to make sure your webserver supports PHP5, MySQL and GD (for image resizing).

Check phpinfo() for modules and php settings. TinX/cms comes with a info.php located in /admin/info.php.  

Now start the installer and go through the 5 steps.

Welcome to the installer

This is the welcome screen - just press "Next".

Step 1: Host and database configuration

Enter information about conneting to your MySQL server.

NB: Make sure the database you want to contain the TinX/cms tables exists.

Prefix: If you install in a subfolder, enter /<subfolder-name>/

When your are ready, hit the "Test" button to test your database connection. If you do NOT see the screen below, something is wrong with your connection. Please fix the problem, before going on.

Hit "Next" when ready

Step 2: Superuser configuration

Enter username and password for the superuser of this site.
